Several morphogenetic coastal sand dunes in the Gulf of Cádiz (province of Huelva) are classified; also, the pleistocene coastal dunes outcropping between Mazagón and Matalascañas are detailed from the sedimentological point of view because they are one of the most important examples of fossil coastal sand dunes on the Iberian coasts. Erosive and sedimentary processes are determinated from the eolian morphology, its distribution and the relation with the littoral configuration along the coast, the amplitude of the backshore zone and the border of the beach/dune zone. Finally, the sedimentary evolution of the coast is established including the formation of the different eolian deposits.
