It is reported sixty three tertiary localities having avian remains accounting those situated both in the Iberian peninsula and in the Balearic islands. Approximately, ten of these sites yield individual species or collections of most interest. A substantial part of described or identified paleotaxa do not deserve confidence.
A brief outline of the historic development of the Tertiary palaeomithology in Spain is given.
