The volcanic outcrops of Nuévalos are located in the Rama Castellana morphostructural domain of the Iberian Range, which constitutes the western margin of the Calatayud Basin. This work presents morphostructural and radiometric (K/Ar) evidences which argues against the age previously proposed by other authors. Morphostructural data indicate an age earlier than Upper Oligocene, and K-Ar dating fixes this age at 183 ± 2.6 My (Lower Jurassic).
