The vegetal microborings in the characteristic communities of bivalves of the Pliocene (Bajo Guadalquivir Basin) are studied. Two basic morphotypes of algal origín and one fungoid are recognized from their size and boring system. The preferential siting and the degree of intensity are exposed together with their paleoecologic significance.
