In the present work morphological data at different levels of devonian shales from Córdoba (Spain) are exposed, These data allow to remark several main aspects in order to characterize and discriminate hercinic processes, hydrothermal metamorphism and weathering in the materials. On the other hand certain peculiarities (textural variations, false schistosity, splitting, etc.) make possible to determine the independence of those processes and support the mechanisms stablished in base of other experimental results (Tirado & Paneque, 1982).
