Palynological survey was carried out of the Abezames section (Zamora, Spain) attributed to a Vallesiense and situated in the so-called "Facies de las Cuestas" in the Duero Basin. From the spore-pollen study the presence of three sets of vegetation could be observed together with a fourth in which the common taxa have been placed. Firstly, vegetation characteristic of the edges of ponds. lakes and rivers; secondly, a "circumpalustre" vegetation displaying considerable influence from the lake environment. Finally, an allochthonous vegetation with elements which mostly correspond to anemophilic plants.
