The Casablanca I carstic deposit (Almenara, Prov. of Castellón) has provided the following association of macromammals: Ursus etruscus, Pachycrocuta cf. brevirostris, Felis sp., Equus stenonis ssp., Rhinocerotidae indet., Cervus cf. philisi, Gazellospira torticornis and Ovibovini indet. This faunal ensemble is correlated to those of Sto Vallier, Puebla de Valverde and Seneze. It can be placed at the late Pliocene (Middle Villafranchian) MN 17 unit.
