A mineralogical and dynamic-vibrational characterization of a dioctahedral chlorite associated with the Navajún pyrite in the Wealdian of Sierra de Los Cameros (La Rioja), was carried out. The chemical analysis by A.A. and XRF combined with those of punctual character (EDX) allow us to establish the following mean structural formula:
(Si3,32 Al0,68) (Al3,78 Fe3+0,04 Mg,0,03Ca0,02 K0,03 Na0,03 Li1,04) O10 (OH)8from XRD analysis the la-2 polytype was deduced as the most probable one. The most remarkable characteristics of the IR and Raman spectra, compared with those of the dioctahedral chlorites, correspond to the shift of the absorption band in rhe 1.000 cm-1 region and its greater complexity, both related with the Al content.
