Dolostones from the Upper Cretaceous in the southwest of Iberian Range are characterized by two textural types; dolomicrites and dolosparites. Its different origin was discused (Fernández Calvo, 1983) in base to its geometry, sedimentology and petrography. Analisis by X-ray diffraction show that both dolomites are stoichiometrics. Observed under the scanning electron microscope the crystal morphology indicates a different diagenesis, according to the origin above mentioned.
