Abstract

The new site of Gorafe-A, placed in the Occidental sector of the Guadix-Baza depression, has provided the following fauna of micromammals: Stephanomys aff. medius, Apodemus goraiensis nov. sp., Paraethomys cf, meini, Occitanonomys cf. brailloni, Cricetus barrieri, Ruscinomys lasallei, Trilophomys vandeweerdi and Prolagus cf. michauxi. This faunal association can be correlated with Iberian Península faunas from Orrios and Gorafe 1, that allows to date the sediments in which the fauna is founded (basal part of the "Group of Huélago" unity) in the early Pliocene.
